Pumpkin Cinnamon Dog Treats

Lucky for Chloe, we had some pumpkin left over from Thanksgiving. So I decided to make Chloe some Thanksgiving treats, since she is too young to eat scraps of people food.

Ingredients:

  • 4 C Quaker Oatmeal, Apple Cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C Pumpkin (100% pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie filling)
  • Dog bone cookie cutter, found here
  • Wax paper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine oatmeal, egg, and pumpkin in a large bowl until blended into a paste.
  3. Dump mixture onto wax paper. Put another piece of wax paper on top and pat down until 1 inch thick.
  4. Using the dog bone cookie cutter, cut out pieces and transfer for a wax paper covered cookie sheet.
  5. Cook for 13 minutes and let cool.

Warning: since flavored oatmeal has high amounts of sugar, you should avoid giving your dog high amounts. But I’ve given Chloe one of these a day and she seems to be doing okay.
