My Actual 2020 Christmas List

I know this is the time of year when bloggers put out their Christmas/Holiday wish lists and honestly, we all know it’s fake. This isn’t really what they are asking for…. until now. This is my actual Christmas wish list!

Every year my family creates Amazon wish lists for Christmas and birthdays. It’s a great way to link exactly what you want, set priorities, and even leave comments for sizes and colors. It’s perfect for sharing what you want without creating a Word document with a bunch of different links 🙂

So here’s how I tackle and create my Christmas list: I put items on that I really want, but don’t necessarily want to spend my own money on. Things like expensive shampoo (and other haircare products), my everyday makeup, and, this year, household appliance. All of these things are vital to my everyday existence but are pretty pricey and I’d rather use my money on more-fun things. 🙂

If you care about my thought process for all my large wish-list items then keep reading, otherwise just scroll to the end to find links to shop! 🙂

Vacuum: the largest item on my wish-list is a pet hair, cordless vacuum that can hang on the wall. We have a short haired black lab but her hair really stands out on our white carpet and annoys me everyday! Our current vacuum is big and bulky and our laundry room really doesn’t have enough space to store it. So every week when I do laundry I have to move the vacuum just to access the wash and dryer. Annoying right?! This vacuum will literally change my life 🙂 I won’t have to see all the pet hair on my carpet and I can start doing laundry with ease !

I did some research and read this review and decided on either the Jashen V16 Cordless Vacuum ($190) or the Dyson V8 Animal Cordless ($360). Ultimately, both vacuums have really good reviews and the main pitfall is the chargers. I made my decision based on price and decided to go with the Jashen because it’s over $100 cheaper. Even though I’m not spending my own money on it, I don’t wan anyone to spend $360 on a vacuum just to have it break or for it to cause problems.

Hair Care: Like most girls, I spend a lot of money on my hair. Before COVID I would get expensive $300 Keratin treatments 2x a year, and was religious with going to the salon to get it colored every 5 weeks. Since then, I haven’t had a good treatment in over a year, and I’ve been coloring my own hair at home with box hair color. While I’m saving a lot of money, I’m also trying to keep my hair looking and feeling semi-healthy 🙂 So I want to keep my “at home hair care game” solid ! And that includes:

  1. The right shampoo/conditioner
  2. Deep conditioning treatments
  3. Moroccan oil (and other leave-in products)

Shampoo/Conditioner: When I was getting Keratin treatments I couldn’t use any shampoo/conditioners that contain salt (sodium chloride) because it’s really damaging to the hair. This rules out all those cheap shampoos that you find at Walmart and other drug stores. I’ve tried a lot of higher end shampoos that you find at Ulta and ultimately fell in love with John Masters Organics and Living Proof. A couple years ago John Masters changed up their product line (and pricing) so I boycotted them 🙂 Living Proof is my current shampoo/conditioner and I love it! I know, I know, it’s a brand that a lot of other bloggers are promoting but it’s actually a great brand and I highly recommend it !

Deep Conditioning Treatments: A couple of years ago, I decided it would be a great idea to get highlights, and it destroyed my hair !! I mean my hair literally felt like straw it was so dry! On a whim, I got some Moroccan Oil deep conditioning treatment and it saved my hair! I’ve been using it ever since!

Other Leave-In Products: Sometimes, leave-in products are just as important as the shampoo/conditioner you use. Every time I wash my hair I used Moroccan Oil leave in treatment and the It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In Product. These are part of my daily routine and I love them, but I don’t necessarily want to spend my own money on them 🙂

Everyday Makeup: In middle school & high school, I had crazy bad acne. The best thing I learned is that your makeup is everything. Sadly, but true, those high end makeup brands are amazingly better than the Walgreens/drugstore brands. Now that my face has cleared up, I still see the benefit of using the more expensive brands, they last longer, the color is better, etc. I’ve been using MAC for about 10 years now and every time I try to switch brands, I instantly regret it 🙂

Candles: I have always been very picky, and loyal, to my candles and lotions. When you find the perfect sent then nothing else will do! I ONLY burn the Capri Blue Volcano candles in my house! Luckily, over the last couple years they have come out with some more products like hand lotions, soaps, and diffusers. But I still stick to the classic candles on my Christmas list.

Pro Tip: the wicks in these candles suck! If you buy the larger sizes then you waste a good majority of the wax. But if you buy the tall hexagon, or even the smaller size, then it’s perfect!

Home Decor: You know me, I have to have some blue and white ginger jars on my list. In my defense I only have 2 large and 2 small and that’s just not enough! I think I’ll put this one on my dining room table!
