Organizing My Laundry Room

Organizing My Laundry Room
Organizing My Laundry Room

Somehow, I was able to get through 6 years without having to buy my own washer and dryer but when I moved into my house I had to be an adult and buy my own. My town home is a pretty good size, square footage wise, but most of it’s dedicated to livable space and not storage space. Which, I know, is a good problem to have but I have a hard time with where to store all my cleaning supplies so I dedicated this to the laundry room. Since my laundry room is literally just big enough for a washer and drying I couldn’t do one of the super impressive ones that I keep seeing on Pinterest, but I could organize it and bring in some colors 🙂

Wicker Baskets

As I make more of these blog posts you’ll notice that I love buying big baskets to throw stuff in. My organizational style is definitely just getting everything out of site or hidden in some way, to avoid the clutter. I love Target for wicker bins, they are sturdy and hold up really well and they have a bunch of options to choose from both online and the store. Typically, I like the darker wood look so I opt for the darker wicker but since the laundry room is such a small space, I wanted to try the lighter wicker so it didn’t look as small; also trying to go for the ‘light and bright’ feel.

Gold Wire Baskets (similar here and here)

When I was trying to decide what to do for the laundry room, I had a vision of these gold wire baskets but couldn’t find them on my usual sites and I finally found them here and they were just perfect. I’m definitely one of those people who loves to do laundry and then not fold the laundry so these extra ‘clean’ laundry hampers save the day!

Hangers:

I’m ashamed to say that I do have moments where I embarrass myself… and these hangers are no exception. I use these same hangers in my closet but I contemplated buying them in the tan color specifically for this room because tan would go better than black. But, I am proud to say that I controlled myself and stuck with the black hangers.

Zebra Painting (similar here, here and here):

I don’t usually buy artwork to hang on my walls, I’m to indecisive when determining exactly what I want and I get sick of things quickly. But, I saw this guy in Hobby Lobby and felt an instant connection and just had to get it (does that happen to anyone else?). It’s not one of a kind but I can’t seem to find it anywhere else but I found a couple that are similar.
