Updated Photo Albums

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with taking photos of everything ! It’s the main reason why I started this blog/Instagram. In the past I would print out all my photos at Costco and stick them into photo albums. But over the years photos have become so digitalized that there almost isn’t a need for albums anymore. Honestly, I still love them! There is something to be said about sitting back and flipping through an album and reliving events from years past. Trust me, it’s not the same as scrolling through old photos on Facebook or Instagram.

My current photo albums have been through a lot! College dorms, multiple moves, being shoved in a corner … Needless to say, they were completely falling apart. Not to mention they were dark leather and didn’t go with my current decor. So, it was time for a change.

Originally, I had these huge 12×12 photo albums and what I’ve learned is they are just too big. They hold too many photos and are just too heavy. Remember: sometimes less is more! Less photos means that you’ve taken the time to filter out the photos are just so-so and only printing the ones that are awesome and deserver to go into a book. Also, smaller means they can fit in more places, I’ve been debating if I want to store mine on my mantle of in the bookshelves. Neither of these would have been possible with those huge 12×12 books.

As you may know, I’m a professional online shopper (self given name) so if it exists, I can find it on the internet. I’ve been scouring for months trying to find cute and stylist photo albums that will fit in with my decor and I finally found them! I’m so obsessed with this brand, their albums come in a variety of colors and neutrals so they can work in any space! They even have albums that look like like hardback books so they can blend in perfectly with a bookshelf.

After much deliberation I opted for the Pieces of Moment 4×6 photo album. This album holds 160 4×6 photos and comes in 8 colors. I’m using ‘mint blue’ and ‘cotton’ in my home decor. If you like to personalize your albums a little then they also have the Pieces of Moment Binder where you can swap out and add additional pages and layouts. These also come in ‘mint blue’ so I might try these out when I go to make my Disney scrapbooks!

My number of piece of advise when you start redoing your photo albums is plan ahead and sort! Planning ahead helps you not order too many albums and sorting can help you sort your photos into categories and filter through the ones that aren’t ‘book worthy’.
