DIY – Laundry Room Makeover – Part 4

Originally, I had planned to slowly update the laundry room throughout the year. And I ended up taking the blunge and completing it in just six months! I’m so happy with how it turned out! The final step of is to add in some accessories and all those little things that make the room functional.

I am so happy with how this laundry room turned out. It gives almost a spa-like vibe and I love how it makes me want to spend time doing laundry.

The owl laundry hamper is my absolute favorite thing ! I’m obsessed with owls but the decor is definitely oversaturated so it’s hard to find a ‘cute owl’. This one is absolutely perfect. It’s a little pricy at $70 but it’s 100% worth every penny.

I’ve seen the ‘Alexa, do the laundry’ sign a couple times on Instagram and I’ve always been obsessed. You can find a couple different designs on Etsy but I love the lettering and spacing of this one. I then got it printed as a poster from FedEx and got a poster frame at Target for about $10. Overall, a very simple addition.

I like to pretend like I’m an organized person, which means everything needs to have a label. I picked up these glass jars from Walmart for $5 and spray painted the tops gold. Then added labels from a $14 kit that I found on Amazon. It’s the perfect look I was going for.

I knew I had to get a lint bucket. Our current setup includes cleaning out the dryer and just throwing the lint on top…. and just leaving it here. Obviously, this is crazy gross and needs to change. With all the amazing raw wood that I added to the space via the countertop and the shelves, I didn’t want to ruin it with a plastic waste basket. So I was really excited when I found this wood one on Amazon for $25.

I’ve been waiting to put up the ‘Wash’ and ‘Dry’ decals since we moved in and they looks so good! I was a little skeptical because we have a little door on the washer but a simple exacto knife worked perfectly !

One update that I wasn’t planning on was the stone wall. As i was putting together the space I noticed that back wall was looking a little too bland. I wanted to add a tile or a pattern but I love the subtlety of white stone. This adds just a little bit of interest without taking attention away from the other elements. The awesome part about this stone is it’s peel and stick, so you don’t have to worry or deal with grout !
