My Loft – the Plan

My Loft – the Plan
My Loft – the Plan

Aside form my fireplace, the loft has become one of my favorite places in the house. It has the perfect amount of light during the day and is perfectly small, so decorating it should be a breeze. It’s also the one room in the house that I could start from scratch, so I need a good plan. Unfortunately, that plan required new furniture, which is always expensive. So this will really just be something that I can look forward to until I get the urge to buy. But I have a plan this time so I’m not just out randomly buying everything in site.

Chair/Ottoman: I really want something that I can just sink into and read a good book for hours. It’s just perfect because a light versatile color with a soft fabric looks super comfortable.

Shelves: Unlike the shelves in the dining room, I didn’t want for these to stand out and overpower the room, I was shooting for a ‘light and bright’ feel, so white was the only option. I also need them to be wide enough to hold a couple layers of decor and a ‘lip’ to keep things on the shelves.

Rug: I have a pretty specific style when it comes to rugs, which is nice because it narrows down my searches really well. I had decided on my light blue color based on the vase that I found, and it adds to the ‘light and bright’ feel (I need something bright).

Vase: I just wanted two pops of color in this room, the rug and a vase. I wanted a small-fat vase with a narrow neck so that I could put a couple of mini palm leaves in and not do a full flower arrangement.

Chanel Quote: Coco Chanel is my all time favorite designer, so I waned to incorporate a quote of hers somewhere in my house. I usually turn to Etsy when I want dictate how large I wanted a quote to be.

Gold Frame: Because everyone needs a pop of gold and a photo of a puppy
