Jasper Glacier Skywalk and Icefields

On the drive to Jasper, Alberta (a 5 hour drive from Calgary) we stopped off at the Jasper Glacier Skywalk and Icefields to walk on the glacier and see the amazing views. It’s about an hour and a half south of Jasper so it’s the perfect activity to stretch your legs right before you get to the hotel. Also the views are insane and definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

The drive to Jasper is completely spectacular. The mountain road from Calgary to Jasper is called Icefields Parkway and, even though the name sounds terrifying, it’s spectacular. Checkout the post that I did here with all the photos from our drive. It’s about a 3.5 hour drive from Calgary to the Glacier Skywalk and, honestly, it took us around 5 because we kept stopping to take pictures.

Of course, being the planner that I am, we booked our tickets in advance through Glacier Adventures. You can also save a whopping 10% if you book in advance. We did the Glacier Adventure for $90 a person and that includes the Glacier Skywalk (overhang with a glass floor) and the glacier walk. Both of these activities took around 3 hours in total and it’s 100% worth it.

Here are the rates for when you book online. Again, if you’re cool with sticking to a set time schedule then it’s definitely worth it to book online. Also, spots fill up quickly!.
