Hotel Review – Kouros Hotel and Suites in Mykonos, Greece

As I was booking my trip to the Greek Isles, Mykonos was on the top of my list. Santorini has the amazing blue dome cathedrals, but Mykonos has the white streets with blue shutters and doors that you see all over Instagram. Also, it’s on the list for the best party cities in Europe. Everything I’ve read says that Mykonos is where you go to party, so don’t expect to spend a lot of time if your room and most blogs said to not worry about your room in Mykonos … well no offense to them but I didn’t take their advise and still wanted to stay in an amazing room with a private pool so I can spend the morning and days relaxing by the water.

Capturing the Blue Domes in Oia, Santorini

Capturing the Blue Domes in Oia, Santorini

Let’s be honest, when you hear the words ‘Santorini’ or ‘Greece’, you think of the blue domes in Oia (pronounced ee-yah). And for good reason, the beautiful contrast of the blue domes and white walls with the stunning views of the sea, are just breathtaking. Not to mention that this is all on the side of a cliff means that almost every view is un-obstructive. Even if you’re not staying in Oia, it’s worth the drive up because seeing these cathedrals, up close in person, is a once in a lifetime experience. It’s hard for me to put this into words, honestly those 4 sentences are all I could do and I know it doesn’t do this view justice. So I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Monthly Decor Favorites – May

Monthly Decor Favorites – May

I’m so glad that blue and white are finally coming back in style. These Asian inspired ceramic pots have been such a huge success with western brands like William Sonoma and Ballard Designs. I’m so glad that I can now find them all over the place, including Amazon!

Monthly Mini Makeover – Master Bath (Part 2) Painting the Tile

Monthly Mini Makeover – Master Bath (Part 2) Painting the Tile

Hi Friends! I’m so excited to share my largest DIY with you, painting my master bathroom. And, I don’t just mean painting the walls, that’s child’s play. I painted the walls, cabinets, AND tile. I didn’t want to go through the whole ordeal of replacing everything in my bathroom, because my townhome is only 4 years old so everything is in great shape. It’s just a little too dark for my taste so I wanted to brighten up the room.

Monthly Obsession – Green Plants

Monthly Obsession – Green Plants

Every spring, florals are always on trend (#shocking) but I’m currently obsessed with adding green accents into my home decor, I just love the look of blue and green. So what better way to add green than by adding plants?…fake plants that is. Don’t ask me to keep a real plant alive, it’s not in my nature.

Monthly Mini Makeover – Front Porch Ready for Spring

Monthly Mini Makeover – Front Porch Ready for Spring

The weather has been so beautiful in Texas the last couple weeks it has inspired me to actually buy live, living, breathing, plants (gasp)! I’m usually not an advocate for living plants, not only do I not have a green thumb but I just prefer the lifespan of a fake plant, especially inside. But it seems to be the trend in spring to buy real plants ( I wonder why ). So I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what all the fuss is about.

Monthly Mini Makeover – Master Bath (Part 1)

Monthly Mini Makeover – Master Bath (Part 1)

Since I purchased my little townhome two years ago, I’ve been very fortunate in that I haven’t had to any major renovations. The home was only a year and a half old when we bought it so everything is in great shape. Since it’s all in such good condition, I can’t bring myself to spend the money on renovating rooms that don’t fit my particular style. For example, I love the idea of having white cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, BUT it’s such a huge undertaking to replace and even paint cabinets that it just doesn’t make much sense. That being said, in the last couple months, I’ve been able to brainstorm ways to transform my master bath into the southern-glam feel that I’m going for, without breaking the bank or doing any major renovations.

Travel Essentials for International Flights

Travel Essentials for International Flights

As we get into the new year and start planning out travels, it’s time to start buying the essentials.. this month I’m sharing all my favorite things for international travel. Yes, not all travel is created equally and international and domestic flights are so different and preparing for them can be just as challenging.

House Tour – My Living Room

House Tour – My Living Room

I use to describe my home decor style between ‘traditional’ and ‘wood-cabin’. I loved the deep woods and comfy leather couches. But, lately, I also started to love the gold and white of modern design. Then I discovered Ballard Designs, which is described as ‘European-style’, but to me it’s the epitome of classic southern style. Every time I go to their website I want to buy absolutely everything. Of course, I don’t quite have the budget to shop there, yet. I like to consider this my ‘forever home’ store. Meaning that when I move into my forever home, I’ll furnish it completely with Ballard (can you tell, I also plan on being super rich when I grow up??). So, in the meantime I found a way to have a Ballard-inspired living room at a fraction of the cost. Keep reading to see how and where you can find the dups!

Jasper Glacier Skywalk and Icefields

Jasper Glacier Skywalk and Icefields

On the drive to Jasper, Alberta (a 5 hour drive from Calgary) we stopped off at the Jasper Glacier Skywalk and Icefields to walk on the glacier and see the amazing views. It’s about an hour and a half south of Jasper so it’s the perfect activity to stretch your legs right before you get to the hotel. Also the views are insane and definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
