Travel Guide – Buenos Aires, Argentina

For the longest time, or at least since I learned about tango dancing, I’ve been obsessed with Buenos Aires. I dreamed of strolling down the colorful streets in my red flowing dress and listening to Latin music. Luckily, and unluckily, I got to go for work! On the plus side, almost everything is paid for. But the down side is that I’d be spending a full two weeks in this magical city and only getting to really spend 5 days exploring, well 5 days and 14 nights to be exact. Even so, I wanted to make the most of it and see as much as Buenos Aires as I could. Keep reading to see my travel guide for Buenos Aires and all the amazing things this city has to offer.

La Boca, Buenos Aires

La Boca, Buenos Aires

La Boca is one of Buenos Aires’ 48 neighborhoods. It’s known for it’s colorful building and tango. It’s actually really beautiful and a top tourist destination. During our tour, we only really went down Caminito street, which is the heart and soul of La Boca. But we also had time to venture down to the docs to see the port and some amazing colored cobblestone.

Mirror Wall Reveal

Mirror Wall Reveal

When we moved into our town home I was so excited to finally have an entry way. I had my heart set on getting a really long and thin table and decorating it with mirrors and vases. But that dream slowly died when I found out that my entry way was incredibly narrow! I couldn’t find anything that would fit so I just decided to decorate the wall. When it comes to large paintings, and really colors in general, it’s too hard to pick something that I can commit to. But mirrors I can do! They are such a great way to bring in gold, silver, or wood accents that can add in a modern flare. Also, it’s possible that I have a ‘small’ mirror obsession so having a mirror wall sounded like the perfect amount of structured chaos.

Hotel Review: Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

Hotel Review: Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

I just completed my two night stay at the Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires and it was spectacular, I’ve never stayed at a more luxurious hotel with so much culture and history!

Chloe’s First Birthday

Chloe’s First Birthday

I can’t believe Chloe is 1 year old! Well… we think she is 1. We got Chloe on November 5 and they said that she was 4 months old, so it just made sense to make her birthday on July 4th. It’s easier to remember and we always have the day off, so it makes it that much easier. That being said, I couldn’t be more obsessed with this kid, she’s so smart and has so much personality that I never expected in a dog.

The Difference Between a Tourist and a Traveler

The Difference Between a Tourist and a Traveler

I’ve always said that I’m a tourist. I find joy in staying at expensive hotels, going to known destinations and providing tips and tricks on how to see them efficiently, what pictures to take, and how to get the most out of your money and points. I’m here to help you avoid all the ‘tourist traps’ and help you only see what’s worth seeing. Efficient traveling so-to-speak.

How I Plan My Trips

How I Plan My Trips

One thing that I pride myself on is my ability to plan out vacations. This includes everything from where we’re going and how are we going to get there, to where we eat and what activities we do. Everyone is different and the most important thing is to make your vacation specific and perfect for you, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks as long as you have fun! We like to have everything planned out, to the minute, when we leave for a trip. Things can always change and we’re pretty flexible, but we like going in with a plan.

Lightroom Edits – Disney

Lightroom Edits – Disney

In honor of The Incredibles 2 opening this week (!!!) I’ve decided to take a look through all my Disney pictures. All 3,539 that is (that’s a normal amount right?) My family goes to Disney quite often, I wont admit how often we go, and I’ve accumulated so many pictures it’s sometimes hard to keep track. One of the best things about Disney are the amazing color schemes and photogenic backdrop that make the pictures so so amazing. But I’ve always wanted to highlight and enhance these colors without enhancing the full saturation of a photo (which typically causes white people look orange).

Lightroom Edits – Moscow, Russia

Lightroom Edits – Moscow, Russia

This past year I went to Moscow (which has been on my bucket list since college) and it was truly amazing and spectacular. Since I was going for work I didn’t feel comfortable bringing my big DSLR camera (rookie mistake). So I was just taking pictures on my iPhone 7 and editing them on a free app I downloaded (another rookie mistake). When I got home and actually blew them up on the big computer monitor, I hated my edits and thought they looked awful. But I had the mindset of ‘oh well they look good on my phone, who cares?’ Then I discovered Lightroom and the glory of actually editing your photos on a legitimate application and the results are amazing!
