Christmas Living Room – 2018

Christmas Living Room – 2018

FINALLY! I think my living decor is finally at a semi-finalized state, at least for this year. I have such a good time decorating for any kind of holiday, and Christmas is easily my favorite. This year I did things a little untraditionally in my living room because I now have pops of blue that I didn’t want to pack up. I tried to stick to mostly neutrals and didn’t try to add any pops of color.

Holiday Update: the Loft

I absolutely love my little loft area, it’s small and neutral and provides the perfect opportunity to add in holiday pops of color. Which is exactly what I did for Christmas! I do my best work when I have a small area to work with and focus on one little part at a time. Luckily, the entire loft is small. Keep reading for how I made a couple small updates to turn this from a cute, girly space to a traditional, Christmas wonderland… for only $50!

DIY – White Spine Books

DIY – White Spine Books

On a normal day, I’m not a DIY person; I’d much rather buy something than make it. However, there are times, and they happen frequently, that I’m looking for something so specific that I have to accept the fact that I have to make something for myself. And the white books that you see in every home decor Instagram is the look that I’m going for and it’s been impossible to find!!! Seriously, I don’t know where they find these white spine books, so we’re making them ourselves.

Mirror Wall Reveal

Mirror Wall Reveal

When we moved into our town home I was so excited to finally have an entry way. I had my heart set on getting a really long and thin table and decorating it with mirrors and vases. But that dream slowly died when I found out that my entry way was incredibly narrow! I couldn’t find anything that would fit so I just decided to decorate the wall. When it comes to large paintings, and really colors in general, it’s too hard to pick something that I can commit to. But mirrors I can do! They are such a great way to bring in gold, silver, or wood accents that can add in a modern flare. Also, it’s possible that I have a ‘small’ mirror obsession so having a mirror wall sounded like the perfect amount of structured chaos.

March Door Reveal

March Door Reveal

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day (I’m not Irish but I think everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day) my March door is inspired by the Luck of the Irish. This is one of my more inexpensive doors because I found this awesome bow at Pier1 and could recycle one of the wreaths that I used over Christmas! Checkout more links below.

Dining Room – Everyday Decor

Dining Room – Everyday Decor

I absolutely love decorating for the holidays, who doesn’t. But I have to live with my everyday decor year round, so I can be pretty picky. This is also why it’s taken me over a year to decorate the dining room, there are just too many decisions. But it’s FINALLY DONE… for now…. until I change my mind.

My Loft – the Plan

My Loft – the Plan

Aside form my fireplace, the loft has become one of my favorite places in the house. It has the perfect amount of light during the day and is perfectly small, so decorating it should be a breeze. It’s also the one room in the house that I could start from scratch, so I need a good plan. Unfortunately, that plan required new furniture, which is always expensive. So this will really just be something that I can look forward to until I get the urge to buy. But I have a plan this time so I’m not just out randomly buying everything in site.

February Door Reveal

February Door Reveal

Ah February, the time for Valentine’s Day and love, and the month besides October where it’s acceptable to eat boat loads of chocolate! For my February door,  wanted to do something different besides a red and pink wreath because the official shape of Valentine’s Day is the heart. I had seen a couple of decorations on Pinterest that included hanging hearts on the mantle or stairwell and I thought it was the perfect idea to incorporate those hearts into my door.

Bathroom Sink Organization

Bathroom Sink Organization

As the stereotypical girl, I love all bathroom products. Hair goop, body goop, and bath goop, I love it all and have developed quite a collection over the years. I can’t tell you the number of times that I’ve gone into my bathroom cabinet, half asleep, and knocked over everything or spilt something. Aside from the half-heart-attack from the loud crashing noise, I was also super annoyed because I couldn’t find the exact thing I was looking for! Needless to say, something needed to change.

January Door Reveal

January Door Reveal

In Texas, January is really our last chance for snow and everyone is outside doing their snow-dances. So in the spirit of winter, I’ve decorated my door as a snow themed! Because, truth be told, we can only dream.
