Originally, I had planned to slowly update the laundry room throughout the year. And I ended up taking the blunge and completing it in just six months! I’m so happy with how it turned out! The final step of is to add in some accessories and all those little things that make the room functional.
I’ve been seeing this stacked log fireplace insert all over Instagram and I love it. Having the television over the fireplace is difficult for decorating and also results in two black boxes that take up most of the fireplace. So this is the perfect solution for me! I was all on board for buying one of these on Etsy, but $200 seemed ridiculous. I managed to make my own for around $75!
Aside form my fireplace, the loft has become one of my favorite places in the house. It has the perfect amount of light during the day and is perfectly small, so decorating it should be a breeze. It’s also the one room in the house that I could start from scratch, so I need a good plan. Unfortunately, that plan required new furniture, which is always expensive. So this will really just be something that I can look forward to until I get the urge to buy. But I have a plan this time so I’m not just out randomly buying everything in site.
For me, one of the best thing about being out of an apartment is having a front door and porch to decorate. I’m still working on the porch part but I can start decorating the outside for Christmas!
One of my favorite things about the holidays is getting to decorate. Sadly, I hate Halloween, I hate being scared and death and skeletons, so I try to avoid it. So, this year, I’ve limited my decorating to just the entry way. And it pains me to admit it but I do like Halloween a little bit more after I’ve started decorating for it 🙂
