Martha Brae Bamboo River Rafting – Jamaica

Martha Brae Bamboo River Rafting – Jamaica

Out of everything we did in Jamaica, the Martha Brae Bamboo River Rafting was hands down my favorite. It’s so unique to Jamaica and we learned so much about the native fruits and plants that grow there. It was such a peaceful and romantic ride that didn’t take up the entire day to do.

Mystic Mountain Jamaican Bobsled

Mystic Mountain Jamaican Bobsled

Out of everything we did in Jamaica, we were most excited to ride Jamaican Bobsleds through the rainforest. Mystic Mountain is a major tourist attraction and sees a lot of bodies everyday, so they are pretty well organized and know how to make the lines flow smoothly. But we learned a couple of things that we wish we knew ahead of time to make the trip even better.

Travel Hacking Success Story: Montego Bay, Jamaica

Travel Hacking Success Story: Montego Bay, Jamaica

After months of planning, we’re finally in Jamaica and we couldn’t be more excited!!!! Our last couple vacations have been filled with hiking, waking up early, and little rest, so we’re taking this opportunity to recharge and relax on the beach with frozen drinks.  I’m so glad we had the opportunity to go to Jamaica and, even better, use points to do so. Overall, I only spent $260 (on flight taxes and fees), and saved roughly $5,398 on this vacation! Keep reading below to see how.

Travel Guide – Universal Studios Orlando

Travel Guide – Universal Studios Orlando

When I turned 25 I didn’t want a crazy party or fancy dinner, I just wanted to go ride roller coasters and pretend to be a kid (a kids who’s still tall enough to ride roller coasters that is ). We decided to go to Universal Studios Orlando because it has the larger Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or Harry Potter World for short, and I’m a big Potterhead and couldn’t resist. As I was planning my trip I went to dozens of blog sites trying to answer simple questions and couldn’t seem to find help/detailed responses. Since I like to plan everything down to the ‘T’, this was an issue for me. So, I decided to make a one-stop-shop for all your Universal Studios questions, complete with pictures (what everyone really cares about).

Travel Hacking Success Story: Sedona, AZ 2017

Travel Hacking Success Story: Sedona, AZ 2017

Hi fellow hackers! We finally made it to Sedona! I’ve been wanting to come here for a while but couldn’t find a good time to take a 3 day weekend to fully experience Sedona. Side note: This is a continuation of my Travel Hacking Blog Series where I talk about how I use reward points to pay for my vacations. I’ll be posting a travel guide to Sedona that’ll detail what we did and more pictures but I wanted to do a separate post about how I used my airline and hotel points to pay for us to come here. We ended up only paying out of pocket for our food and activities!

Travel Hacking – Part 2 Earning and Redeeming Points

Travel Hacking – Part 2 Earning and Redeeming Points

Hey Guys! Welcome to part 2 of my blog series on Travel Hacking! In part 1 I talked about which credit cards I have and how I decide which credit cards to apply for and use. This post will be all about the most efficient ways to earn and redeem your points.

Travel Hacking – Part 1 Rewards Credit Cards

Travel Hacking – Part 1 Rewards Credit Cards

Hi Friends! Welcome to the first part of this blog series on Travel Hacking ! There are so many great blogs out there for researching Travel Hacking and different techniques to use but this series will focus on my journey, and tricks, from start to finish. Now I’m not one of the pros, with 20+ credit cards, but throughout the last couple years I’ve developed a really good system for earning points and redeeming them for vacations. My goal is to lay out this series as if you were just starting out and had never heard of the term travel hacking. It’s also set up to be a step-by-step guide so let me know if you have any questions in the comments below, I use a lot of math for explaining things and sometimes I forget that not everyone understands math the way I do.

runDisney Tinkerbell Half Marathon 2017

runDisney Tinkerbell Half Marathon 2017

I should disclose now that I’m not a runner and running a half marathon was not my idea, but it was an excuse to go to Disneyland and wear a tutu so I couldn’t refuse. Like most things that involve Disney, a runDisney “vacation” requires a lot of preparation and planning (and money!!) So below are some of my guidelines and a couple things I learned after my first runDisney event.

Travel Guide – Las Vegas

Travel Guide – Las Vegas

My adorable little brother just graduated college (!!) so, naturally, we are all headed to Vegas with my extended family. My cousins, aunts and uncles love celebrating milestones with us but we hate asking them to come out and sit through a graduation ceremony so we typically do a trip of some kind when someone graduates and we’ve found that Vegas is the perfect place. I only really go to Vegas with my family, which sounds weird but we’re all really close and share a gambling and shopping obsession. I couldn’t even fathom going to Vegas with my girlfriends who don’t know the rules or proper gambling etiquette. We’ve been to Vegas a couple of times now just for quick weekend trips and I feel like we finally have the hang of it!
